Tauranga police officers who arrested a 55-year-old man suspected of driving while under the influence of drugs say they found half a kilogram of cannabis in his car, along with a large amount of cash.
The vehicle was stopped in Tauranga about 2am on Sunday and a search revealed 15 packets of cannabis, worth up to $7500, police say.
A Coromandel man has been charged with drug possession and may face a further charge of driving under the influence of drugs.
