Black Ferns cruise into World Cup rugby final

9:15 am on 2 September 2010

The New Zealand women's rugby team is into the World Cup final after beating France 45-7 in their semi-final in London.

The Black Ferns, the defending champions who have won the cup three times, scored seven tries to one. Winger Carla Hohepa scored twice to take her tournament tally to six.

The half-time score was 31-7.

Captain Melissa Ruscoe says there is a small sense of relief at reaching the final, because beating France wasn't as easy as it looked.

In Monday morning's final New Zealand will play England, who beat Australia 15-0 in the other semi-final.
