Games security still an issue for NZOC

The New Zealand Olympic Committee says it is pleased with improvements to athletes' accommodation at the Commonwealth Games but concerns remain over security, especially during the opening ceremony.

New Zealand athletes began arriving in Delhi on Tuesday and more are making their way there to take up residence at the Games Village.

NZOG president Mike Stanley says the accommodation has vastly improved and things are getting closer to a state of normality.

However, he says thought is now being given to the logistics of how the New Zealand team will safely travel to and from the opening ceremony on Sunday.

The XIX Commonwealth Games will run from 3-14 October.
