Guest nights in short-term commercial accommodation rose 2% in November, compared to a year earlier.
Statistics New Zealand says the the increase was mainly due to more people staying in hotels and a rise of 6.6% in domestic guest nights. International guest nights fell 3.1%.
Five of the 12 regions reported more guests, with Auckland recording the largest increase.
