A man fatally shot while duck-shooting south of Auckland has been named. He was Phillip Eric Bright, a 53-year-old farmer from Waiuku.
The police say Mr Bright was shot by another hunter on Saturday - the opening day of this year's duck-shooting season.
They say Mr Bright was in a hunting group at the time. They are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and awaiting the results of a post-mortem and other forensic analysis.
