A New Zealand man is reported to have died in a white water kayaking accident in Canada.
The news agency Global Calgary says the 20-year-old was paddling down a creek in Banff National Park when his kayak overturned under a ledge.
The man was under water for several minutes before being pulled to safety, but later died in hospital.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry says it was alerted to the death on Wednesday, and is providing consular assistance to the man's family.
It does not know which part of New Zealand the man is from.
