A man charged with assault and wilful damage after an incident involving a television reporter in Mount Maunganui last week has appeared in court.
Camera footage leading up to and after the attack was broadcast on TVNZ's Fair Go programme on Wednesday, showing reporter Gordon Harcourt with blood coming from his nose.
The accused appeared in Tauranga District Court on Thursday and has interim name suppression until his next court appearance on 18 August.
