More than 30 people have been arrested in drug busts in Northland and Waikato this week during police raids targeting dealing houses.

Cannabis, methamphetamine, cash and stolen property was seized as about 40 search warrants were executed.

The police in Northland searched 17 Whangarei addresses and made 20 arrests.

They referred two children aged one and two and a 15-year-old to Child Youth and Family.

Meanwhile, Waikato police say a week-long operation cracking down on drug dealing houses and organised crime in that region resulted in 12 arrests.

They say charges include supplying, manufacturing and cultivating drugs as well as receiving stolen property.

Police say it was of particular concern to find children living in houses where they are exposed to drugs, criminal activity and unsecured firearms.
