Residents want gang out of Dunedin suburb

Some Dunedin residents near the scene of a second armed offenders squad callout in a week say the Black Power gang must leave the area.

The gang's local president, Albert Epere, was shot in the arm last Sunday during a clash with members of a rival gang in the suburb of Liberton.

On Thursday, armed police locked down a part of Pine Hill Road again and seized weapons including axes and knives from gang flats.

Local resident Bill Thompson says he wants Black Power members moved on.

Fiona Sizemore, principal of Liberton Christian School which looks onto the back of the flats, says she would rather the gang was not there.
