Police have launched a homicide investigation following the death of a man in the Auckland suburb of Mt Roskill.
They say the man died on Nash Street about 1am on Friday.
About 100 metres of the street remains cordoned off as police conduct a scene examination.
A tent, believed to be covering the man's body, lies over a footpath and part of the road.
A handful of officers were guarding the scene and assisting residents who live within the cordon to leave.
Police are interviewing people who were in the area at the time.
