Six men will appear in Lower Hutt District Court on Wednesday morning charged with the aggravated burglary of a Lower Hutt house on Monday evening.
Detective Sergeant Anthony Tebbutt says six people smashed their way into the Cambridge Terrace house armed with a sledge hammer and crowbars and assaulted the occupants.
Police have arrested five 22-year-olds and one 21-year-old, who have all been charged with aggravated burglary.
All six will appear in court on Wednesday morning.
