A motorcyclist has died after his motorbike collided with a car in central Christchurch.
A St John Ambulance spokesperson says emergency services were alerted to the accident at the intersection of Gasson and Byron Streets about 8.30am on Thursday.
The spokesperson says the man riding the motorcycle was dead at the scene when emergency services arrived.
Traffic diversions are in place.
