Queensland police investigate death

8:49 pm on 26 December 2011

A large team of detectives in Queensland investigating the death of a man whose family live in New Zealand say they have yet to find a motive.

The body of Tony Williams was found by two of his friends at about 2pm on Saturday, in the Sunshine Boulevard complex where he lived.

Police say he had been assaulted and probably died early on Friday afternoon.

Detective Superintendent David Hutchinson says he lived alone and there was no sign of forced entry into his home.

He says it is too early too speculate about a motive or who may be responsible for the death.
