More than $50,000 has been donated to the family of the child who was attacked in Turangi last week.
Police say money has come from around the country: $38,890 so far.
People in Turangi have donated anothjer $13,000, bringing the total to $51,890.
Police say the family are overwhelmed by the generosity and will use the money for their daughter's future.
