Sport: Fiji winger doubts ABs will ever play in Pacific

Flying Fijians winger Nemani Nadolo says while he would love to see the All Blacks play a test match in the Pacific Islands he doesn't think it will happen.

New Zealand Rugby confirmed this week the All Blacks will play an international against the USA in Chicago in November.

The All Blacks have never played a test in Fiji, Samoa or Tonga and New Zealand Rugby boss Steve Tew says there are still no plans to change that any time soon.

Nemani Nadolo says he's done his best attempt at a sales pitch to some of his Crusaders teammates.

"I always give it to these boys and say, 'come over and have a game with us', but unfortunately as rugby is getting more professional and business aspects of it I can't see it happening. It would be good to see it one day: [if] the All Blacks came to the islands I'm pretty sure half the country will be out supporting them but it's good that they're playing the US. It's good to take rugby over there and that it's happening but I always give to these boys to try and get them to come and have a run, even if it's just a training session it will be happy days with that."

Meanwhile Nadolo says he's looking forward to being a part of the nation squad for next month's Pacific Nations Cup and World Cup qualifier against the Cook Islands.

"I got in contact with [new coach] John McKee - he knows his way around the islands and he's very qualified for the job. We're looking forward to getting over there and playing some games, and driving Fiji back up to the top ten, which is our aim. If I take care and play well in club rugby hopefully the rest can take care of itself and hopefully I can wear that jersey again."
