Samoa netball coach Marcia Harcastle praised her team's experienced core for helping them qualify for the 2015 World Cup in Sydney.

The Samoans beat the winless Cook Islands 50-36 last night to finish the Pacific Series in second place, with four wins from six matches, to join champions Fiji in qualifying for next year's tournament.

Fiji and Samoa also dominated the tournament team, with four players each being named, alongside two from both PNG and the Cook Islands.

Marcia Hardcastle says the return of some experienced players, including Monica Fuimaono and Opheira Harder-Karatau, played a big part in their success.

"I think the lucky part for us is some of these girls that are playing at top level in New Zealand and Australia so all that my job is to do is link them together as a unit and because they've had so much netball prior to going to the PNS, compared to the other islands, so we've got a couple key players for us they're keen to carry on and take us through to the World Cup so I'm pleased with that, we've just got to do a bit more conditioning work".

Meanwhile Fiji beat Papua New Guinea 58-42 in their final game to finish with a perfect six wins from six as they made it five straight PNS titles.
