Tonga's oldest bank, the Westpac Bank of Tonga, says it is closing a branch in Si'i Kae Ola and amalgamating it with the Nuku'alofa branch.
It says the ATM in Si'i Kae Ola will still be available for customers to use.
The bank says the Si'i Kae Ola branch was a kilometre away from the Nuku'alofa branch and it did not make sense to have two branches and an ATM so close together.
Its general manager, Dennis Quayle, says all full-time staff members from Si'i Kae Ola will have employment in the Nuku'alofa branch.
