Temotu Province in Solomon islands has proposed establishing an agriculture trade link with Vanuatu.

The Solomon Star reports that the province has been liaising with Vanuatu officials over possible trade in fish and copra.

The Temotu Premier, Fr Brown Beu, says they are working on a trial trip to Vanuatu before the end of this year.

The Premier says that a business man in Santo is asking Temotu to supply his company with 250 tonnes of copra per week at US$240 per tonne.

He calls it good news for all copra farmers in and around Temotu which is geographically close to Vanuatu.
