Vanuatu have won the inaugural Pasifika Under 17 Cricket Tri-Series, exacting revenge over hosts Fiji in the final.

After being sent into bat, Vanuatu lost two quick wickets before recovering to post a challenging 134 for 6 from their 20 overs.

Cakacaka Tikoisuva was the pick of the bowlers for Fiji, conceding just 12 runs in his four overs.

Chasing 135 to win, the Fijian batsmen were in deep trouble at 20 for 2 after ten overs before some big-hitting cameos, including 28 from 9 deliveries by captain Saimoni Tuitoga, gave the hosts a shot at repeating their round robin victory.

Needing 30 from the last three overs, Fiji ended up five runs short, with Spinner Stephane Sandy finishing with 2 for 10 from his four overs.
