Minister faces misconduct allegations

7:36 am on 15 July 2014

Papua New Guinea's Arts, Culture and Tourism Minister, Boka Kondra, has been referred to the Public Prosecutor's Office for alleged misconduct.

Our correspondent, Todagia Kelola, says the Ombudsman Commission referred Mr Kondra to the prosecutor's office for failing to uphold his duties in office, but wouldn't reveal the nature of the allegations.

This follows last week's referral of Manus MP Ronnie Knight, but the alleged incidents are unrelated.

Todagia Kelola says more referrals can be expected.

"There may be a number of leaders who may be referred to the public prosecutor. My sources are telling me that there may be more but they could not reveal the number of leaders who will be referred, nor their names."
