Sport: PNG Hunters call on fan support to reverse slump

2:41 pm on 16 July 2014

The Papua New Guinea Hunters coach Michael Marum has urged fans to get behind the team following a tough period of results in the Queensland Cup rugby league competition.

The Hunters were thrashed 60-28 by Tweed Heads Seagulls at the weekend and have slipped to seventh in the overall standings, on the back of four straight defeats.

They now have four home games in a row, beginning this Saturday against Sunshine Coast Falcons.

Marum says despite the Falcons being bottom of the table they will be on a high after winning their first game of the season last weekend and the Hunters need everyone to get to the games at the Kalabond Stadium to show their support for the team.

He says all of the coaches, management, staff and players are working extremely hard everyday and are a very close knit group.
