Reports Bill Clinton to skip PNG

1:48 pm on 22 July 2014

A former United States President, Bill Clinton, has reportedly pulled out of his visit to Papua New Guinea.

Mr Clinton was supposed to have arrived in the country this morning for a visit to the Goroka Family Clinic in Eastern Highlands Provincial Hospital.

He is on a trip through India, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Australia to review Clinton Foundation projects and was scheduled to visit an HIV lab and treatment centre in Goroka.

The Clinton Foundation PNG Office told PNGFM the visit clashed with the former President's keynote remarks at the 20th International AIDS conference in Melbourne this week.

It was also reported there were technical difficulties with his private jet.
