Australia funds market project in Vanuatu

11:28 am on 20 August 2014

Australia's High Commissioner to Vanuatu says his Government is committed to supporting women sell their farm produce by investing nearly 3 million US dollars towards improving market places across the country.

Jeremy Bruer is launching the project at the Port Vila Market House today and says the project represents a step towards strengthening women's economic security and rights in Vanuatu.

He says marketplace links the community to the national and regional economy and the participation of everyone, including women, is vital to Vanuatu's economy.
