Papua New Guinea's government has mandated a special task force to investigate alleged terrorist links in the country.
This follows revelations by local media last week that a family based in PNG with various business interests in the country allegedly had links with international terrorist activities.

"The National Security Advisory Committee has established a task force to be led by the head of the National Intelligence Organisation and to include members of the police and defence force as well as Customs and Immigrations officials. The Chief Secretary of government, Sir Manasupe Zurenuoc, has mandated the task force to probe the alleged links and take appropriate actions to dismantle any terrorist network unearthed. He's given them 30 days to conduct the probe. In a statement, Sir Manasupe says the alleged terror link is only commercial in nature. As such, he says the investigation will focus on operations of commercial entities and activities of individuals involved with them."
