8:21 am on 9 October 2014

In American Samoa, the head coach of Leone high school, Arona Samoa, has reported recent stoning incidents which have injured students and damaged school buses.

Mr Samoa says the stoning began three weeks ago after the junior varsity football games. He says in one stoning a female student suffered a head injury when she was struck by a rock.

The school bus was also damaged.

He adds a week ago, one of their coach's vehicle was stoned, and his wife who was in the car with him and their children were nearly injured.

Arona Samoa says he has reported the incidents to the American Samoa high School Athletic Association, the Department of Education and has given information to the police.

But he says he hasn't heard of any action being taken.

The coach is concerned for the safety of the students and is anxious to see what measures will be taken to

prevent further stoning incidents for the high school's game this week.
