Collins says resolving Bain compensation will take months

Justice Minister Judith Collins says resolving the David Bain compensation case will cost more money and could take months.

Ms Collins says she will take a paper to the Cabinet on Monday with a range of options, including establishing a panel to review the case.

She says setting up a panel would cost more than the $500,000 the Government spent on the earlier report by retired Canadian Supreme Court judge, Justice Ian Binnie.

Ms Collins says the final cost will depend on which option the Cabinet decides to adopt.
