Pair ordered to appear in court

Internet entrepreneur Kim Dotcom and Sky City chief executive Nigel Morrison have been ordered to appear in court next month to give evidence against ACT party leader John Banks, who is defending claims of electoral fraud.

A company owned by Graham McCready, a retired Wellington accountant, is taking the case, claiming Mr Banks recorded donations for his 2010 Auckland mayoralty Campaign as anonymous, despite knowing they were from Mr Dotcom and SkyCity.

Mr Morrison and Mr Dotcom have been summonsed to court on 14 and 15 October to give evidence supporting those claims.

Mr Dotcom's bodyguard, Wayne Tempero, and his lawyer, Greg Towers, will also be required to give evidence.

Police investigated the matter last year and concluded there was not enough evidence to lay charges.
