Horan denies family settlement report

Independent MP Brendan Horan is denying any settlement has been reached with members of his family who accused him of misappropriating money from his mother's bank accounts before she died.

He says a newspaper report was incorrect and he has not agreed to any settlement over his mother's estate.

Mr Horan was expelled from New Zealand First's caucus last December after leader Winston Peters said he had received information that caused him to lose confidence in the now independent MP.

Mr Horan told Morning Report he has done nothing wrong, the accusations against him are false and he has been the subject of a character assassination.

He is accusing Mr Peters of bullying and says misinformation has been put out to the media.
