TPP trade agreement being discussed in Sydney

7:39 am on 27 November 2013

Finance Minister Bill English will discuss the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement on Wednesday at an Australia-New Zealand leadership forum in Sydney.

Critics have accused the United States of running roughshod over the talks, but Mr English says the proposed TPP Agreement is important to both countries and both are keen for America to remain involved.

He says Australia and New Zealand will urge the United States to continue leading the negotiations.

The forum is an annual gathering of business and political leaders.

Other cabinet ministers from New Zealand at the forum are Steven Joyce, Tim Groser, Craig Foss and Murray McCully.
