Prime Minister John Key says a new marine farm deal with Maori shows all Treaty settlements can be completed by 2014.

The Government on Wednesday signed a $97 million agreement with 21 iwi to hand over a decade of aquaculture rights five years early.

The deal brings forward the payout for a promised 20% allocation of all marine farming areas created since 1992 to Maori.

Mr Key says all parties showed innovation, flexibility and pragmatism and the deal shows that other Treaty settlements can be sped up to meet his target of full resolution by 2014.
