National falls slightly in latest polls

Support for the National Party has fallen slightly in two polls released on Sunday night.

The TVNZ Colmar Brunton Poll and the TV3-Reid Research Poll both show support for Labour as static on 30 to 33%, with the Greens surging from 4.5% to 8%.

National fell four points in the Colmar Brunton Poll to 51% and just 0.9% to 54% in the Reid Research Poll.

Both polls show support for the New Zealand First Party growing to more than 3%.

The Colmar Brunton Poll shows the Maori Party and ACT have both had fractional gains, putting them on 2.3% and 1.3% respectively.

John Key remains the preferred prime minster but his support has fallen eight points to 48%, while Labour leader, Phil Goff, remains on 7%.

The Colmar Brunton poll surveyed 1005 eligible voters and has a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points.
