McCully to meet Hillary Clinton in Washington

Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully leaves for the United States on Tuesday for a meeting with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Mr McCully says they will discuss the situation in Afghanistan, cooperation in the Pacific, and developments in the Middle East.

He says he will also pass on the Government's appreciation for the prompt and generous support offered by the United States after the Christchurch earthquake.

The meeting will take place early Wednesday morning New Zealand time.

Mr McCully will meet other Obama administration officials on his trip and deliver a speech on the New Zealand-US relationship in the Pacific.
