Tax cuts and changes to RMA wanted

The New Zealand Chambers of Commerce is urging whichever parties form the next Government to cut the top personal tax rate and review the Resource Management Act.

In an election manifesto issued on Thursday, the chambers say they support policies which enable businesses to flourish and promote economic growth.

They also want a review of all Government spending and for monetary policy to be left alone.

Radio New Zealand's political editor says all these are policies promoted by the National Party.

In addition, the chambers want a current ban on new thermal electricity generation dropped and a Productivity Commission established.

The chambers say they will compare the policies of political parties with those in the manifesto to help their members make an informed vote.
