Police in Christchurch are appealing for witnesses to a 10-year-old boy being knocked down by a BMW car on Riccarton Road.
The Ilam School pupil was hit by a late model black BMW as he tried to cross Riccarton Road on a scooter.
He has been treated at Christchurch Hospital, but details of his injuries were not immediately available.
Police say the driver of the BMW, whom they describe as an Asian male, assisted at the scene but did not leave details.
Constable Dom Robinson of the Christchurch Crash Unit is urging the driver to come forward.
