Police look for man who lit fire at petrol station

Updated at 5:50 pm on 29 July 2012

Police in Hamilton are looking for a man who set a service station's fuel pump on fire.

They say the man walked into the Anglesea Street Z Service Station at about 1.30pm on Saturday, spread some of the contents of a fuel pump across the forecourt and then set it on fire.

Three petrol pumps were damaged.

The man is described as a six foot tall, athletic Maori wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with a black vest over the top and white, green and grey camo-style long trousers.

He was last seen running south on Anglesea Street and into Clarence Street.

The service station has since re-opened.
