Police have begun an inquiry after a baby boy died suddenly in south Auckland on Tuesday afternoon.
The two-month-old boy died at a residential property in Manurewa.
The cause of the baby's death remains unknown and a post mortem is expected to be carried out.
Police and family members remained at the house on Battlen Place on Tuesday evening, where investigations are ongoing.
Police said family members are devastated over the baby's death and are cooperating with their inquiries.
Fire crews also attended the scene in order to supply specialist equipment, believed to be thermal imaging equipment, to the police.
