A sperm whale washed up on the Kapiti Coast is being buried whole on a secluded part of Paraparaumu beach.
The Department of Conservation said the 15 metre carcass was transported about 10km down the coast to Queen Elizabeth Park near Raumati, where it was rolled into a large pit on Thursday morning.
