Firefighters continue their work to contain and dampen hot spots in a fire that burnt more than 100 hectares on Great Barrier Island.
About 45 volunteer rural firefighters are containing the perimeters of the fire that started on Tuesday and helicopters remain on the Island to provide support.
Auckland Civil Defence said Navy personel are assisting with ground operations.
