A toddler hit by a car in a driveway in Northland on Tuesday afternoon has died.
The 18-month old girl was hit by a vehicle close to the Northland settlement of Ohaeawai just before 1pm.
The toddler was taken to Starship Hospital by helicopter but police say she has since died. The next of kin are yet to be advised.
An investigation's begun into her death and the police say the driver of the vehicle is helping with inquiries.
Meanwhile, a three-year-old boy has been taken to Middlemore Hospital following a hit-and-run in South Auckland.
Emergency services were called to the incident in Bairds Road, in the suburb of Otara, about 10am.
Police are trying to locate the driver.
