Police are looking for an arsonist who crawled under a Scout hall in Wellington before setting it on fire.
Officers called to the Karori Scout Hall at about 3.30am on Sunday found it extensively damaged by the blaze.
Wellington city Scout leader John Saunders says the hall is used by about 90 Scouts and they are trying to find another venue.
He says the fire has damaged at least three rooms and the building is a complete mess.
Mr Saunders says he has no idea who lit the fire or why they crawled under the hall to start it.
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
