A man accused of stealing a taxi, then crashing it into another car in Auckland, is now in police custody.
Police say a taxi driver was hauled from his car when it was early on Saturday morning.
The police helicopter followed the speeding taxi up Pakuranga Road, but it crashed into another vehicle and the driver fled.
He was found hiding in a property close by and arrested.
