Christchurch police have posted an image of the British TV star Robbie Coltrane on "wanted" leaflets in an effort to alert homeowners to a teenage burglar.
Coltrane featured in the TV series Cracker and the Harry Potter movies.
Sergeant Phil Dean says a known teenage thief who recently moved into the area has greasy hair and uses a bike to commit burglaries - but he does NOT resemble the actor.
He says the main reason they are using a picture of Robbie Coltrane is to encourage people to read the whole leaflet.
Sergeant Dean says the leaflet talks about learning how to stop burglary and the 30 simple questions you can ask to find out whether your home is safe.
He says the leaflet clearly states Coltrane is not the person they are looking for and lawyers have given police advice on the leaflets.
