A psychologist found guilty of professional misconduct has been named.

The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal found against Keriata Paterson of Te Puru, near Thames, earlier in the week but continued name suppression until Friday.

Ms Paterson was struck off as a psychologist after admitting to a charge of professional misconduct after she had an intimate relationship with a client.

The tribunal ordered her censure, saying it wanted to make it clear that it considered her conduct unacceptable.

It did not impose a fine but has ordered Ms Paterson to pay costs of $1500.
