The body of an elderly Hamilton man found dead in his home on Wednesday has been removed on Thursday afternoon and taken to Auckland for a post-mortem.
The police say the 79-year-old's death will be treated as suspicious until such time as the results of the post-mortem and scene examination determine otherwise.
Emergency service personnel called to a property in Matai Street at 1.25pm on Wednesday found the man dead in his bed with what appeared to be a head injury.
