Queenstown police have named the toddler who drowned in Lake Wakatipu.
Violet Elisabeth Waples was found in the lake, near Kelvin Heights, after she wandered away from her mother on Tuesday.
In a statement released on Wednesday, her parents, Andrew and Alana Waples, say they are devastated by the death of their 34-month-old beautiful daughter.
The couple thanked police, the coastguard and St John Ambulance as well as their neighbours and community for their response.
The couple say they are surrounded with family and friends and are blown away by the love that is being sent their way from near and far.
