A man initially charged with assault with a weapon, is now charged with murder after a man was stabbed to death in Opunake.
Desroe Bishop, 37, died at his property on Thursday morning.
A man arrested in relation to the death will appear in the New Plymouth District Court on Friday.
Inspector Blair Telford said it appeared there was an argument before the stabbing. Police are not looking for anyone else.
