A large house fire that closed part of a road in west Auckland on Thursday morning has been put out.
A fire service spokesperson says all the occupants of the house on West Coast Road in Glen Eden got out safely.
Six engines were initially sent to the scene and a further eight were called in for backup.
Fire crews remained at the scene to ensure the fire did not flare up again.
Part of West Coast Road was closed while firefighters tackled the fire but one lane has since been re-opened.
