Police in Palmerston North say they know who shot another man in the leg on Monday night, and are looking for him.
A 50-year-old man was shot after he had went outside his home in Highbury with his father to investigate movement around his vehicle.
An argument broke out with a man and the 50-year-old was shot while his father ran inside to call the police.
The police say a scene examination and interviews with the victim and his father have been completed.
They say every effort is being made to locate the offender.
