A person has died in a fire in a block of flats in Trentham in Upper Hutt.
Firefighters were called to a block of flats on Merton Street just after 8pm on Sunday.
Initially firefighters thought all of the block's occupants were unhurt, however a body was found a short time later.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
