Teacher stood down amid inquiry

9:45 pm on 10 December 2013

A criminal investigation is underway into an Auckland teacher after complaints involving primary school children. The teacher has been stood down in the meantime.

Radio New Zealand understands a meeting has been held at the school on Tuesday night. It is believed the school is in west Auckland and that Child, Youth and Family was one of the agencies at the meeting.

The Ministry of Education said it is supporting students and staff.

The Auckland Primary Principals' Association said it only found out about the complaints via the media.
